Worldwide - what countries celebrate Halloween Halloween?

Halloween was originally a pagan holiday celebrated by the people of Celtic and born of the pagan feast "Samain".

Samain is a holiday that celebrates the dark season Celtic year.Gaulish people also celebrated this holiday, which has been called "Samonios".Samonios was replaced in the Gauls country by Christian holiday.

Samhain was celebrated in three days before and three days after November 1, and the origin and there was no carved pumpkin nor a tip or traitement.Personnes had a lantern in a celebration navet.La has been strictly observed by all of the company and gave the opportunity to each barbarians to eat, drink and have fun.

For centuries, continental Europe converted to Christianity and abandoned Samonios on all Saints Day and samain became all Hallow Eve.

However, that we are currently celebrating Halloween has nothing in common with samain.

Halloween and Toussaint are always linked because Halloween means "The night before the feast of all saints"and"from the all day hallow" is our Continental Toussaint.

All Hallow Eve which evolved during the christianisé European populations, was imported in America by European settlers and aware Halloween holiday was created by Irish emigrants.

In Belgium, two villages still celebrate Samonios (Samhain), born Grindin Toussaint, holiday and Saint Grégoire.Un of these villages is Gouy-Lez-pedestrian.A friend lives in Gouy and when I talk about Halloween, she said: "we do not replace the holiday of Saint Nicholas by Christmas so we don't replace not our Toussaint and our death by Halloween day!" However, she agreed to organise a party Halloween with me next year.

Here are some countries that celebrate Halloween:

If some Halloween adopted continental European countries, this has not been without difficulté.En effect, we consider this celebration is too "American Marketing" style.European people gives more value to their culture and traditions for business events.

Belgian people celebrate Halloween more than 10 years but Gouy-Lez-pedestrian refuses to adopt, preferring to celebrate their own samain-style holiday.Although the Belgian people organize a dinner days before Christmas, they always offer gifts December 6 children and not on 25 décembre.donc, I doubt that my country will replace Toussaint by Halloween.

On the other hand, the Belgian people do not open their doors to unknown persons, including children, and we are not allowed to ask sweets.Furthermore, many children are fighting in the streets of steal other sweets.

French think that this holiday is too commercial and while this country finally adopted Halloween at the end of the 1990s, it is now less apprécié.Il are very few children rings at the door and asking for candy.

English people celebrate Guy Fawkes Day 5 November and has adopted numerous customs of Samhain. These festivities are marked by mi-nocturne parades where children use masks manufactured from beet and pumpkins.

Scottish people practice their ancient rites païens.Enfants wear costumes and cut in large turnips scary faces and put a candle inside specified receive sweets when they offer a pleasant entertainment to their neighbours.

Trick or treatment from Irish children dressed up in Ireland, so as usual, will appreciate the Halloween festivities, they will carry navets.Enfants cut in large Lantern will be received by their neighbours with sweets and homes Irish will be decorated for Halloween lights.

Other cities and European clubs organize sales events for Halloween (mainly for tourists), newspapers published articles dedicated to Halloween, but I am not sure that people really practise Halloween.Il are very few information about celebrate Halloween in Europe, especially Central and orientale.Ils adhere to their own Toussaint and the day of death.

Australia and New Zealand will begin to enjoy Halloween.

United States, Canada and Quebec: Halloween is very appreciated and I think that only certain disasters worldwide should avoid these people to celebrate Halloween.
